Answers

1. What is a dual fuel system?
The injection of a small quantity of LPG vapour into the diesel combustion process creates a simultaneous burn. Modern electronics, now 4th generation allows the control required to accurately meter and inject precise, small amounts of gas.

2. Is the technology proven?
Mechanical LPG systems have been in use for decades. Our technology has been in development since the late 1990s and has been constantly refined with modern electronic controls, very similar to injection control units used in cars. The system is tried and tested and used in thousands of motors of all makes and sizes including Caterpillar, Volvo, Kenworth, Cummins, Scania, Nissan, Ford, Mercedes, Land Rover and many others

3. Is it safe?
Yes. It is probably safer than most petrol systems. All kits are fitted to Australian Standards AS1425, one of the most stringent fitting standards in the world

4. What if I run out of gas?
The system automatically switches to normal diesel running and will automatically revert to gas injection when refilled.

5. Will the extra power damage my engine?
No. On the contrary, since the engine is burning the entire amount of diesel injected, it will now run cleaner with no soot build up.

6. Where does the LPG gas tank go?
This depends on the vehicle but it usually mounted underneath where space allows.

7. Does the engine run hotter?
No. Since more power is produced, the engine does not have to work as hard. Exhaust gas temperatures are also cooler since there is no longer excess fuel being burnt through the exhaust.

8. What if there is a malfunction in the system?
If there is a fault in the system (e.g. the alternator fails and no longer sends an engine speed signal) the system shuts itself down, preventing any gas flow and over fuelling.

9. Can the system be fitted to a modern electronic controlled diesel?
Yes. The system is fitted with its own wiring harness, and does not interfere with any of the electronics found on modern diesels. The diesel injection is not de-rated in any way on either electronic or mechanical engines.

10. Does the system work with bio-diesel?
Yes. If the engine runs properly on bio-diesel, the system will deliver the same result and be even cheaper to run due to the cost of bio-diesel. Emissions are dramatically improved again as well.

11. What is the warranty?
The GEN IV is fully warranted on all components for 3 years.

^ top

12. Does the conversion affect my new vehicle warranty?
No. All vehicle and engine manufacturers' warranties stand alone and are not affected by after market LPG conversions.

13. Are financing arrangements available?
Yes, the system can be rented over 3, 4 or 5 years depending on the vehicle. Conditions apply.
